The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission is pleased to announce it will be holding a treasurer training seminar in Hunterdon County to assist local candidates and treasurers with campaign reporting.  This training seminar is open to any candidate or campaign treasurer or interested person.

The training is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19th from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at the Historic Court House in Flemington, NJ. There is no cost to attend the event, but registration is required.

Candidates for all elected public offices in the State of New Jersey must file reports of their campaign financial activity. Individuals who engage in “pre-candidacy” activity, commonly known as “testing the waters,” are defined by law as candidates. Candidates for federal office or persons running for political party positions (county committee member, state committee member, or delegates to national party conventions) are not required to file reports with the Commission.

After attending the seminar training, each treasurer or individual will receive a Treasurer Training Certificate with a Treasurer Identification Number (TIN).  This certificate will be mailed to the attendees shortly after attending the seminar.  The TIN never expires and is assigned to the individual who has completed the training.

To allow for proper planning, registration is requested.  Please register your name and a contact phone number where you can be reached with County Clerk Mary H. Melfi at (908)788-1214 (fax 908-782-4068) or email countyclerk@co.hunterdon.nj.us
