Advocating for a new, intersectional reproductive health policy agenda for New Jersey.

Reproductive Freedom Act

The Reproduction Freedom Act is ground-breaking legislation that will protect the right to abortion care for everyone in New Jersey and expand access to critical reproductive health services, especially for historically marginalized communities.

Now is the time to help us move this legislation forward! We need your voice this week to ensure the Reproductive Freedom Act is brought before the Senate and Assembly Health Committees as soon as possible.

Would you please contact key state legislators?

This action should take less than 5 minutes of your time.

Please use this link to contact the bill’s sponsor Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, Senate President Steve Sweeney, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, Senator Vitale, Chair of the Senate Health Committee, Assemblyman Conaway, Chair of the Assembly Health Committee, and your elected officials to urge them to put the Reproductive Freedom Act on the committee schedule.

My name is Harrison Dillard and as a recently retired Police Captain and United States Army Veteran, I hope to be an example of how we can all be pro-social justice and fight for equality, while still maintaining our support for law enforcement.  Throughout my career, I have taken great pride in fostering positive and productive relationships with the many agencies and groups with whom I have worked.  As proud as I am of my law enforcement career, and know most of my peers uphold their oath to protect and serve all citizens with honor and integrity, I also know systemic racism still exists within our criminal justice system.  As the first person of African-American ancestry to ascend to the rank of Captain in my agency, I have personally addressed the disparities against our black and brown citizens, including the under-representation within the law enforcement profession and the over-incarceration, in which our state leads the country.

The NAACP is the is the largest and most pre-eminent civil rights organization in the nation, with over 2,200 units and branches across the nation.  ALL ARE WELCOME and there are over twenty committees you can join, based on your personal experience and interests, which will afford you the opportunity to implement substantial policy changes and reform, designed to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of all citizens.

Best regards,

Harrison Dillard
